What Are Interior Paints?
Interior paints are coatings formulated for walls, ceilings and trims inside a building — optimised for indoor air quality, low or zero VOC emissions, washability and a smooth decorative finish, rather than the weatherproofing exterior paints need. Godavari Paints' interior range spans economical distempers through to luxury emulsions and enamels, so every room and budget has an appropriate product.
Why Interior Coating Quality Matters
Interior walls are the visual backbone of any living or working space. Beyond appearance, a quality interior coating provides genuine functional protection: stain and moisture resistance, breathability for drywall and plaster, and — in Godavari's higher tiers — active antibacterial and antifungal protection for kitchens, bathrooms, healthcare and educational settings.
Godavari Interior Paints: Product Range at a Glance
Nine dedicated interior products cover everything from budget distemper to luxury elastomeric emulsion. (Information Required: the source category copy also names 10 additional product variants — e.g. a Zero-VOC line, a silver-ion antibacterial line, a ceiling-specific product, an interior textured finish — that don't currently have dedicated pages in the material supplied for this audit. Confirm whether these are planned pages, discontinued products, or should be added to this table once source content is available.)

Manufacturing Excellence Behind Every Batch
Godavari Paints has been manufacturing architectural coatings since 1972, with over 50 years of formulation experience (Information Required: confirm exact founding/years-in-business figure — see the same discrepancy flagged in Batch 1). Interior paint production runs on ISO-certified automated lines (Information Required: confirm exact ISO standards and certificate numbers — source material references both "ISO 9001:2015 and 14001" and generic "ISO-certified" inconsistently).
- Raw materials: pure acrylic and vinyl-acrylic binders, rutile titanium dioxide for opacity, inert silicates for sheen control, and eco-biocides for can stability and anti-microbial protection.
- Production: automated dosing and high-shear dispersion for consistent viscosity, colour match and drying profile batch to batch.
- Quality control: every batch tested for wet viscosity, pH, specific gravity, cross-hatch adhesion, scrub resistance and VOC compliance before release.
Godavari's interior coatings have been specified on named residential and commercial developments including Hiranandani's Valentina, Carlton, Penrith and Evelina Towers (Thane) and Odyssey & Avalon Complexes (Powai); Godrej Properties' Planet Godrej (Mahalaxmi), Godrej Woodsman (Bangalore) and Godrej Edenwoods (Thane); K Raheja Corp's Chalet Hotels; Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (Andheri); and developments by the Runwal Group, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Prestige Group, Magarpatta Township, Goel Ganga Group and Rustomjee Group (Information Required: confirm current permission to publish each of these named projects and verify the list is up to date before this goes live).
Supply, Dealer Network & Technical Support
Products are distributed through an authorised dealer network serving painting contractors, real estate developers, interior designers and retail merchants nationally, with bulk/project-phased supply and on-site technical support (substrate inspection, custom tinting, painter guidance) for large developments (Information Required: confirm current dealer count/coverage for a specific, accurate claim rather than generic "nationwide" language).
Applications by Space Type
- Residential: houses, villas, bungalows and housing societies needing washable, stain-resistant, low-VOC finishes.
- Commercial: offices (low-odour for occupied repainting), showrooms and malls (scuff resistance under heavy foot traffic).
- Institutional: schools and colleges (washability, low VOC), healthcare facilities (antibacterial/antifungal protection, zero-odour options).
- Hospitality: hotels, resorts and restaurants needing an elegant finish that also meets hygiene and cleaning-frequency requirements.

How to Apply Interior Paint (Step-by-Step)
- Surface preparation — remove flaking paint, clean with mild detergent, fix leaks, fill cracks/holes with wall putty and sand smooth.
- Priming — apply an interior wall primer to seal the putty/plaster and promote even topcoat adhesion.
- Application — dilute per product instructions (typically 25–50% water) and apply with a synthetic brush, microfibre roller or airless spray.
- Multiple coats — a minimum of two coats, allowing at least 4 hours' drying time between coats; a third coat may be needed for strong colour transitions.
- Final inspection — check in bright light for brush marks, patchy coverage or thin areas, and touch up as needed.
